Path to Certification

  • Minimum:
    • Knowledge of the Business Technology Body of Knowledge (BTABoK)
    • 3 to 5 years experience as a practicing architect 
    • Business Technology Strategy pre-work materials included with course registrations (Corporate plans may differ).

Solution Architecture – The Solution course develops an architects skills to effectively function as a project delivery architect for midsize to large projects using common techniques and procedures.

• Function within the team throughout project life cycles to ensure appropriate technology strategy delivery.

Business Architecture – Business architecture is an essential aspect of any organization that aims to improve its operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability. It involves developing a comprehensive understanding of the organization’s processes, capabilities, and people to identify and implement strategic improvements. This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop a robust business architecture that aligns with the organization’s objectives.

Software Architecture – The associate software architect curriculum course provides the final elements necessary to the knowledge and practice of software architecture at the associate level. During the course, you will explore the software engineering and application development practices that distinguish you as a software architect. The program builds on the IT environment skills and design skills learned in the foundation associate courses.

AI Architecture – The Iasa AI Architecture associate level course provides skills and knowledge in the following areas: Understand what AI tools to use and when. How MLOps can be woven in an existing culture of automation. Articulate core ML concepts in both orthodox and heterox applications. How to monitor AI systems for performance and reliability. What security risks and ethical obligations exist for your use cases. How the AI Center of Excellence model can be applied to your company to create a hub for AI innovation and discovery. Which laws and regulations are relevant to your industry and geography

Integration Architecture – The IASA Integration Architecture course is a three-day in-depth integration architecture discovery for anyone who wants to understand how to architect integrated systems.   This course discusses many of the practical architectures including digital, high performance event archtiecture, blockchain and conversion of existing legacy systems to modern microservices.

Agile Architecture – Agile Architecture @ Scale (AA@S) develops the practice of growing teams of teams using agile practices and using architecture to help address difficulties in large agile implementations. Agility at scale permeates areas of the business that were untouched by team-based agile practices. For example, business strategy, portfolio management, budgeting, procurement, innovation, and enterprise demand management. In large complex environments, organizations struggle to manage the overall architecture and roadmap or tie the delivered customer value to the achievement of business objectives.

Hybrid Infrastructure Architecture – This comprehensive 5-day Hybrid Infrastructure Architecture Course is tailored to equip IT professionals, architects, and business leaders with the skills needed to design, implement, and manage hybrid infrastructure solutions that align with business objectives. Integrating concepts from the BTABOK (Business Technology Architecture Body of Knowledge), participants will gain an in-depth understanding of both the technical aspects of cloud architecture and how to develop a strong business case for cloud transformation.

Following successful completion of an Iasa Associate level course you will be provided with 2 months access to the online (open book) exam. Although the exam consists of 100 multiple choice and true/false questions, they will require utilizing the knowledge acquired in the associate course and BTABoK material to find solutions to posed scenarios. The exam is deployed online via Iasa’s Learning Management System. Students will be given 2.5 hours each to complete the exam. A passing grade is 70%.

The Iasa Continuing Education Program exists to ensure that architects are continually learning new skills and keeping up-to-date with state of the art practice. The Certified IT Architect – Associate (CITA-A) level requires individuals to maintain an active Full Iasa Membership. Credential holders are also required to collect at least 80 hours of CEU’s (Continuing Education Units) the equivalent of two work weeks, bi-annually. In combination with obtaining CEU’s, the credential holder is also required to have worked as an architect for a period of at least 16-weeks.
