The future of architecture continually emerges from the work we architects do, and that other people choose to invest in. What’s valuable and at the right time, catches-on, multiplies and positively impacts the outcomes that matter. What isn’t fades away, sooner or later. Being an architect is a wonderfully diverse and rewarding career. We get to innovate, inspire and lead architectural change. There’s always more work than architects to do it, so we’re bound to choose carefully and be highly productive, as well as having the right skills for every new challenge. Each generation of architects builds a legacy for the ones that follow. Their future careers, capabilities, opportunities and constraints will be influenced by how we are dealing with ours. What will the architects of tomorrow most thank us for, and what might they wish we had done differently.
